OptionPay FAQS

What is OptionPay?

  • OptionPay is a payment card system the Rural Municipality of Canwood No.494 uses for its online credit card transactions. You can find out more information about OptionPay by visiting their website here.

Is there an added fee for using OptionPay to pay my R.M. of Canwood No.494 taxes/invoices with my credit card?

  • Yes. All transactions carried out through OptionPay follow a tiered fee schedule, starting at a minimum fee of $2.00. To see the full fee schedule for using this payment option, please visit their fee schedule here.

Why is there an added fee to pay with a credit card?

  • The fees are administered through the OptionPay program for the use of the service and not through the R.M. of Canwood No.494.

Is my credit card/information secure with this program?

  • OptionPay provides information on their security measures here. Please note that the R.M. of Canwood No.494 takes no responsibility for, and accepts no liability, in the event of security breaches, technical difficulties, or other issues that may arise from your use of OptionPay. All users accept responsibility for their use of this service and do so at their own risk.

Online Banking

The R.M. of Canwood is set up as a payee with the following institutions: Credit Unions, Scotiabank and TD Canada Trust.

We are listed as Canwood No 494 (RM) Taxes, and when adding The R.M. of Canwood as a payee you will be asked to add an account number with a minimum of 5 digits. This account number is the number in brackets beside your name on your tax notice as you will see in the example below.

If you have less than a 5 digit account number you can add additional zeros.

E-transfers

We accept E-transfer as a payment option.

You can send payment to rm494finance@sasktel.net. In the memo add your Name, Legal Land Description, Customer Number or Invoice Number for the payment you are remitting.

Pre-authorized Debit

Monthly payments can be made directly from your bank account. An Authorization Form is required for these payments.

Cheques

Cheques can be mailed to RM of Canwood, Box 10, Canwood, SK, S0J 0K0

You can drop by the office Monday to Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.  We are open over lunch.
